Emma J. Green's Obituary
Emma Jean Green, 79, of Decatur, departed this life on December 17, 2017 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Emma was born on October 29, 1938, in Oxford, MS, the daughter of Elbert and Mattie (Porter) Houston. She was united into holy matrimony with L.V. Green on December 5, 1958,
Emma was a member of the Church of the Living God PGT #3. She also worked at the Holiday Inn for 29 years. She loved playing solitaire and enjoyed her family.
She leaves behind to cherish her loving memories, her children; Denise Williams, Loretta Green both of Decatur; sister, Mable Houston of Chicago, IL, 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews
Emma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 4 brothers, 4 sisters and one great-grandchild.
The family would like to thank Mary Ann Rabe of White Star Health Care, Nurse Ingle from DMH home healthcare, the 4th floor nursing staff of Decatur Memorial Hospital, nurses and staff at DaVita Dialysis of Decatur; friend/neighbor, Sam Stanley; and family friend, Stephanie Bates.
Homegoing services to celebrate the life of Emma Green will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 23, 2017, at Church of the Living God PGT #3 with Bishop Calvin Peppers, officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday before the service at the church.
