Emma Lee Matthews' Obituary
Emma Lee Matthews, 90, of Decatur, passed away peacefully, August 23, 2018 at New Generations of McKinley Ct.
Emma was born, September 6, 1927 in Laurel, MS, to Lucille Jackson and John Fenderson. She retired as a C.N.A. after 35 years of service retiring from Fair Havens Christian Village. She loved taking care of people and spending time with her family.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Mary Smith of California, Joyce Harvey (Larry), Thelma Thomas, Bessie Matthews, Emma Matthews, all of Decatur, IL, Theresa Matthews of Bloomington, Marlene White of St. Louis, Darlene Haines of Wisconsin, Tamara Matthews of Irving, TX, Ikesha Matthews of Grand Prairie, TX; sons, Robert Smith of St. Louis, Louis Matthews of New Mexico, Marlon Matthews and Jackie Matthews, both of Decatur, IL and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends, 34 grandkids and 20 great-grandkids.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, 2 sisters, 5 brothers, 2 sons, 1 daughter and 1 grandson.
Homegoing service will be held 12:00 noon, September 1, 2018 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 10 – noon at the church.
Burial will be at Macon County Memorial Park.
