Emma Jean O'Neal's Obituary
Emma Jean Jordan O'Neal, 68, of Decatur, peacefully slipped into the arms of Jesus Christ, from this life into eternity on February 21, 2006.
Funeral services will be held at Trinity CME Church at 444 S. Webster St on Sat. February 25, 2006 at 11:00am with Rev. Patricia A. Havis officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before the service in the church. Moran & Goebel Funeral Home are in charge of the arrangements. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery.
Jean was born on March 17, 1938, in Jefferson County AL. her parents were Webb and Leola Jordan. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Cropwell, Alabama.
On August 23, 1954, Jean married Lenford O'Neal, they moved to Decatur in January 1955, to this union seven children were born. After coming to Decatur Jean united with the Trinity CME Church where she served on the Missionary Society, and was Advisor for the Mattie E Coleman Circle. Jean retired from the James Thompson House in Decatur. Her gift was to decorate whether it would be painting, antiquing, remodeling or flower gardening.
She leaves to cherish fond memories her husband, Lenford; sons: Hubert Wilbur Pinkie O'Neal, Lindsey Loretta O'Neal, Larry Christine O'Neal all of Decatur, and Tandy O'Neal of Watusa Wisconsin. Daughters: Evangelist Patricia Kenneth Farmer and Margaret Taylor all of Decatur, twelve grandchildren and 23 great grand children, loving Godchildren: Jackie & Teri LaGarde, Mother-in-law, Annie O'Neal of Cropwell, AL. Brothers and Sister; Morgan, Pete, and Diane Blaylock all of Alabama. Sisters-in-law: Mary Jo Copeland, Marcelene Ragland, Irene Roland Butler all of Decatur; Thelma Ladale Jones and Ernestine O'Neal both of Cropwell, AL. and Brother-in-law, James Mollie O'Neal of Cropwell AL. Special friends Alma Lowery, Pat Oliver, Lucy Sutton and Earline Tate. Plus a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Alfred; parents; sister, Rennie Lee Kelly, father in law, Earlie O'Neal, and Aunt Josie Jelks.
