Eric “Ric” Eichel, 49, of Decatur passed away at 5:30 am Monday January 9, 2012 in his home. Per Ric’s wishes cremation will take place at Graceland Crematory. His ashes will be scattered at his family’s property in Wisconsin. Ric Read Obituary

I am so sorry to hear of this early passing of my childhood friend. Although I have not seen Rick in many years, it is with fond memories that I recall carefree days spent with dear families from our church. Eric was one of the most sincere men i have ever had the priveledge of knowing…….not a mean bone in his body. Dearest Don and Irma, I am so very sorry to hear of your loss of Rick. I knew him from my days at Lake Helen Bible Camp. He was such a soft hearted person. My heart breaks for the both of you. I can't even begin to imagine how difficult it would be to lose a child. Because even though they are grown, our kids never stop being our children. Rick was a good friend. Lots of great memories from back in the old LHS days. I am deeply saddened by the news of his passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of his family. I loved Rick, exept for those stinking head butts he would give me. I think he forgot he wasnt wearing a football helmet…lol He always had a smile and a hug for ya if he liked ya.
