Estola Jane Bergbower's Obituary
Estola Jane Bergbower, 94, of Decatur, died Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Fair Havens Christian Burial.
Estola was born February 12, 1918 in Taylorville daughter of Estelle Louis and Viola Penter Collenberger. A seamstress for Eldorado Apparel Factory for 20 plus years, Estola was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She was also a member of VFW Post 99 Auxiliary, Elks, Moose, Ladies Garment Workers Union Decatur Local and Rockin Grandma’s.
Surviving are her daughter, Jane companion, Rick Chamberlain Spicer of Decatur and son, Stephen L. Denton of Springfield; grandchildren: Jerry E. companion, Todd Stevens Spicer, Jason Johnson and Gregory Denton; great grandchildren: Madison Johnson and Aston Johnson; along with many great nieces, great nephews other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands: Francis Denton and Carl Bergbower; one brother and two sister.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 22, 2012 from 5 to 7 pm in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Services to celebrate her life will be 10 am Friday, March 23, 2012 in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Ponting Cemetery, Stonington. Memorials may be made to: VFW Post 99.
