Lynn grew up in Pana and graduated high school from Sacred Heart all girls school in Springfield. After graduating, Lynn joined the United States Navy and was stationed at Great Lakes in Chicago. Lynn was a wave and so proud to have served her country. While serving in the Navy she met the love of her life and married Earl her fellow service man. Once they left the Navy they moved to Lake Arthur, LA., to begin their life together. Lynn loved being a part of the Conner family and two families became one. Lynn and Earl made their way back to Decatur after several years in Louisiana where they started their family. Lynn was a stay at home until the kids got older then she took the skills she learned in the Navy and became a secretary. Lynn worked at Grants, Bio Genics, which later was known as Toxigenis, Relive, Legal Access, and sold Princess House Crystal. Her favorite job of all was being a mother. Lynn loved to travel and was always ready to pack her bags. Yearly trips to Louisiana was always top at the list. She loved to gamble and play bingo or just hang out with her family and friends of her children. Lynn always welcomed all into her home. Most enjoyable was watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren at their sporting events or anything else they were involved in. Lynn was an avid St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Bears, LSU Tigers, and University of Illinois fan.
Lynn knew no stranger and thought of all as her friend. Strangers were not going to be a stranger once they met Lynn, especially if they were a fellow veteran. She was always willing to lend a helping hand. She loved giving and making others smile. Lynn was diagnosed with Dementia/Alzheimer in 2014 and lost her battle but fought hard all the way until she took her last breath.
The family would like to extend a loving thank you to all the staff at Aspen Creek in Sullivan. Mom adopted an entire family once she moved to Aspen Creek and she was loved by all. The entire staff at Aspen Creek is loved and we are all so thankful for your excellent caregiving and love of our mom.
