I first met Gene through the Homewood Suites RR coffee group in Forsyth. I taggedAlong with my husband Phil, and other RR friends. Gene was so sweet and always aGentleman. He was so Sharp and "young at heart" for someone in his 90's. We had aDate twice to the Cancer Survivor Dinner, enjoyed a lemonade on the porch, and lunchOut a few times. My last recent visit with him was very special to me.
Gene was one of the finest men I have ever known. My family was lucky enough to live next door to his family for many years in Northland Heights. Just lovely people! So many great memories to cherish about Gene and his family, He was a true Blessing!-Catherine McBride Savage
"Papa Gene" meant so much to the Dacar family. He was our "second Dad" — he always remembered our birthdays and always remembered our ages, even when we "slipped" into our sixties!
