Evelyn L. Pistorius' Obituary
Decatur-Evelyn L. Pistorius, 98, of Decatur, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2016 at Fair Havens Christian Home in Decatur.
Evelyn was born October 6, 1918 in Blue Mound, Illinois, the daughter of Orian and Hattie (Eckhardt) Pistorius. She was previously employed with Schudel’s Laundry & Dry Cleaners for thirty-nine years and with Normans Cleaners & Launderers for ten years. She was a member of Meridian Community Church of God and enjoyed crocheting, flowers, baking, and softball games. Evelyn and her sister Bernice grew up, worked, and lived together for ninety-eight years.
Evelyn leaves behind her beloved sister Bernice Pistorius, nephew Stanley David (Marianne) Pistorius, nieces Marsha Jane (Ronald) Bell and Rita (Tom) Hick, cousins Lana Pistorius and Kelly Pistorius, special neighbor Danny Dansby, and several loving great-nieces, great-nephews, family, and friends.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents and brother George Pistorius.
Services to celebrate Evelyn’s life will be 2:00 PM Friday, November 11, 2016 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1-2 PM prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be at Zion Cemetery in Boody. Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
