Floyd Melvin Hatch's Obituary
Floyd Melvin Hatch, 91, of Sullivan, formerly of Decatur, died Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Floyd was born March 30, 1916, in Vernon, the son of Claude N. and Mollie Sprinkle Hatch. He worked in maintenance at Mississippi Valley Steel for over 44 years. Floyd was a member of Central United Methodist Church, Stephen Decatur Masonic Lodge #979, life member of Decatur Moose Lodge #684, and member of Elks Lodge #401. He married Marilyn L. Travis October 17, 1942 in Clayton, MO.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn of Sullivan; son, F. Stephen Lin Hatch of Conyers, GA; grandchildren: Jason C. Hatch of Greenwood, SC, and Nathan S. Beth Hatch of Granite Falls, NC; great-grandchildren: Jordan & Jackson Hatch of Granite Falls, NC; sisters: Betty Vic Cadwallader of Springfield, Evelyn Lourash and Sandra Richard Beldock of Decatur; brothers: Robert June Hatch of Decatur, and Arthur Norma Hatch of Orlando, FL; sister-in-law, Mildred Hatch of Decatur.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Juanita and Lorretta and brother, Donald.
Funeral services will be 11 am. Monday, March 3, 2008 at Central United Methodist Church. Visitation will be 3 to 5 pm. Sunday, March 2, 2008 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Burial will take place at a later date.
