Floyd Lee Joyner, 67, of Decatur, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2016, in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Homegoing services to celebrate Floyd’s life will be 12 noon Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home, 2801 N. Monroe Street, Decatur, IL. 62526. Visitation will be from 6p.m.-8p.m. Friday, March 4, 2016 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Floyd was born on May 13, 1948 in Decatur, IL, the son of Julia B. Johnson. He worked for Wagner Casting, Co. for 38 years. He married Laverne (McAfee) Joyner in 1967, to this union 3 children were born. Floyd enjoyed fishing, camping, and traveling, and mostly loved spending time with his family.
Floyd and Alberta were united in marriage on May 13, 2005, and they shared ten wonderful years together.
Cherishing his memories are his wife, Alberta Joyner of Decatur, IL; son, Floyd Kevin (Erica) Joyner of Decatur; daughters, Veronica (Tony ) Webb of St. Louis, MO, Rolunda Joyner of Decatur, IL, Julia Green of Decatur, IL, stepson Rozelle Honorable of Memphis, TN & stepdaughter, Shalonda Brown of Decatur, IL; sister-in-laws, Lula Landrum and Dora Lee; grandchildren, Jaleel, De’Angelo, Alisha, Antonio, Julian, Kim, Juliana, one great-grandchild, Diera, two Aunts, Emma Johnson, Aletha Johnson, two uncles, Lloyd Johnson and Frenchie Johnson, and a host of nieces and nephews, and other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two grandchildren, Antonio and Stephane.
