Frances J. Davis' Obituary
Frances Jean (Brink) Davis passed away on August 3, 2024, at Brandel Health & Rehabilitation in Northbrook, IL. She and her twin sister, Louise, were born in Quincy, IL, on April 13, 1926, to their parents, Alfred and Ella Mae Brink.
Frances attended St. Francis Elementary School and Quincy Notre Dame High School (2 years). When her family moved to Decatur, IL, Frances attended and graduated from Decatur High School. Frances then worked for Montgomery Ward Co. in the accounts receivable department.
Frances married Allen Davis on July 20, 1946, in a double wedding with her twin sister, Louise, and Rex Clover at St. Patrick Church in Decatur.
Over the years, Frances enjoyed volunteering with the St. Mary’s Hospital Auxiliary, at St. James Parish, and with St. Teresa High School Booster Club.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother (Jim), and twin sister. She leaves to cherish her memory twin sons, Jim (Mandy), Jeff (Linda), and daughter, Jody (Scott) Beutler. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Kara, Lynne, Justin (Sarah), Ryan (Laura), Natalie (Michael) Ostas, Brad, and Sam (Klaudia), and 8 great-grandchildren, Emily, Nicholas, Connor, Peyton, Teddy, Gabriella, Charlotte and Jack, and several dearly loved nieces.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Lake Barrington Woods and Brandel Health & Rehabilitation for their compassionate care and support over the past several years.
Funeral mass celebrating her life will be held on August 8, 2024, at St. James Church, Decatur, IL, at 11:00 am; visitation will be one hour prior to mass. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Decatur.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Ss. James & Patrick Parish in Decatur or Covenant Living of Northbrook’s Benevolent Care Fund.
