Franny was the coolest mom I know. She always had creative things for us girls to do, from making rainbow cakes with M&Ms to having tea parties with her tea set from China. I can only hope to be as wonderful with my own children as she was with Sara and Lincoln. Most sincerely yours. Springfield, IL US
Dear Larry, Sarah & Lincoln —My thoughts and my family's prayers are with you at this time. Thank you for allowing such a beautiful person as Franny into our lives. I lot of who I have have become is due to her loving influence. Some of my best memories are the beautiful handmade dolls she made for Danette and I that looked exactly like us, Laughing ourselves silly about "Giraffes and Drafts" in the house, and the countless times she tended to my many allergies and asthma attacks — making a city kid feel welcome and homey out on the farm. I have added a photo to the album of her at my high school graduation in 1989."Granny Franny" is very close my heart and will be missed. Be blessed going forward.Genaire Walker & Family Davenport, IA

I'll never forget one memorable trip with Fran and Vicky in '98 to visit Deana when she lived out East. We had a blast! Fran was full of life and so comical and witty. Her snoring kept me awake at night and her commentaries kept me laughing the rest of the time. I can just picture her now, holding Deana's tree in the back seat all the way home to Illinois. Remember that, Vicky?Fran was a spunky, energetic, and inspirational woman. She will be missed by many. Champaign, IL US
