Frances J. Snead's Obituary
Frances J. Snead, 79, of Decatur, died Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Frances was born December 6, 1928, in Paxton, the daughter of Omer & Minnie Sloop Fields. A homemaker and avid bowler at Spare Time Lanes, Frances was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a very active member at Central Baptist where she attended for over 25 years. Frances was involved in the churches varied programs and ministries. She loved the Lord Jesus, her church family and the preaching of God’s word. She married William A. Snead on August 14, 1943 in Urbana.
Surviving is her husband, William; son, Kenneth Teresa Snead; daughters: Virginia Robert Wade, Barbara Dyke, and Melony Bud Brozio all of Decatur; 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren and 5 step-great grandchildren; sister, Lorene Harris of California; several nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 6 brothers and 2 sisters.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 pm Sunday, September 14, 2008 at the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 11 am Monday, September 15, 2008 at Central Baptist Church with burial in Boiling Springs Cemetery. Memorials: Central Baptist Church.
The family extends special thanks to Dr. Scribner, DMH Doctor’s and the staff in intensive care.
