Francis E. Perry's Obituary
Francis E. Perry, 91, of Decatur, died Sunday, February 24, 2008 in his home.
Francis was born October 10, 1916, in Decatur, the son of Frank E. and Mary Gleespen Perry. A U.S. Navy SeaBee Veteran of the World War II, Francis worked for the Wabash/Norfolk & Western Railroad as a machinist for 32 years before his retirement in 1979. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, 50 year member of the Legion of Mary, Knights of Columbus Council #577, and American Legion. Francis enjoyed fishing and playing golf. He married Betty Ann Heynen May 20, 1944 in Decatur.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; children: Patricia Ann Perry, Michael G. Alison Perry, and Sue Brad Scherer all of Decatur; sister, Mary Catherine Boblitt of Divernon; brothers: Robert Perry of Bettendorf, IA; James Perry of Las Vegas, NV; George Perry of Hattiesburg, MS; 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, William Francis Perry and 2 brothers: John and Emmitt.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am, Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Visitation will be one hour before the mass at the church. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials: Holy Family Catholic Church.
The family would like to thank all of the caregivers who cared for Francis especially Traci, Tina, and Katie.
