Franklin Wayne Owens' Obituary
Franklin Wayne Owens, 79, of Oakley, Illinois, passed away on June 22, 2026.
Born on April 12, 1947, in Decatur, Illinois, Frank was the son of Hubert Franklin Owens and Neomia Ruth Shockey. He lived a life defined by his family and a deep appreciation for the simple things that brought him joy.
On May 22, 1981, Franklin married the love of his life, Marilyn Hahn. Together they built a family and shared many years of love and companionship.
Franklin worked for many years as an independent painter and tire shop owner.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Owens; his children, Heather Owens (Phoenix) Franklin Owens Jr. (Amanda), Donnie Owens (Lisa), and Samantha Owens; and his cherished grandchildren, Bryce, Chase (Lainey), MaKenna (Griffin) Ryker, Austin, Paul, Crystal, Hunter, Mia, Ocean, Aspen, Donavan, Chelsea, Hope, Angel, and Troy as well as many great grandchildren. Also by brothers Jessie Owens and Earl Owens and sisters Jodi Hahn, Marilyn Owens, and Tina Dreyer as well as many nieces and nephews.
Frank loved his family above all else. He enjoyed spending time at his cabin on the Sangamon River, sharing stories and making memories with those he loved. He was also known for enjoying a cold PBR at the Sundown and the simple pleasures of life. His warmth, humor, and steadfast presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, his sister Carol Brand and grand daughter Erica.
Franklin's legacy lives on through his family and the many lives he touched throughout his years. He will be remembered with love, gratitude, and countless fond memories.
