Frederick Randolph Jenkins 69 of Decatur, died at 7:07 am Saturday May 29, 2004 in his residence.
Graveside services will be 1:30 pm Wednesday June 2, 2004 in Mount Gilead Cemetery, where Military rites will be conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Rev. Lawrence Flaugher will officiate the service. Visitation will be 12-1 pm Wednesday in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Fred was born on March 28, 1935 in Decatur, the son of Fred and Eva Flynn Jenkins. He married Dorothy Meyers Nicholls in 1975 in Las Vegas, Nevada, she preceded him in death in August 1987. Fred worked as a laborer for the Caterpillar Inc, Company. He served his country by serving in the Navy during the Korean War.
Fred is survived by his loving sisters: Betty Hwbaker and husband Dean of Amarillo, Texas; Bonnie Short of Decatur, Illinois, Patsy Thornton and husband Jerry of Decatur, Illinois, Marianna Saville of Decatur, Illinois, Audrey Mitsdarffer and husband Francis of Decatur, Illinois, Judith Carlson of Amarillo, Texas; brother, James Jenkns of Vandalia, Illinois; a host of nieces and nephews and other family members.
Fred was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
