Frederick Lyle Jones' Obituary
Frederick Lyle Jones was born July 20, 1935, in Decatur, Illinois, to Arena Jones and William Bealon (with Marjorie Carter the mother who raised him). He attended Decatur Public Schools. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.
Fred loved camping and fishing, but mostly spending time with family and friends. He worked for the Senion Citizen Transportation Department for 25 years.
He leaves to cherish his memories wife Angela Neeley Jones of Springfield, Illinois; sons William (Shanterri) Jones of Baltimore, Maryland, Richard Jones of of Vancouver, Washington, and Frederick (Jamie) Jones of Bloomington, Illinois; daughters Judith Jones of Springfield, Illinois, and Christine Jones of Los Angeles, California; Goddaughter/niece whom he helped raise Kawana Armour of Springfield, Illinois; sisters Netella Hill of Decatur, Illinois, Renice Bolling of Alton, Illinois, and Alice Walton of Springfield, Illinois; brothers Gordon Williams of Alton, Illinois, and Donald Mason of Springfield, Illinois; and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Juanita Jones; brothers Crawford Bealon, Maurice Williams, William Phartt, Bobby Joe Mason (Harlem Globetrotter); and sister Claudia Bealon.
Visitation for Frederick will be from 10:00am to 11:00am on Thursday, March 23, at Moran and Goebel Funeral Home. Homegoing Service will begin at 11:00am. Burial in Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield will be at 1:00pm. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.moranandgoebel.com.
