Frederick Dale Lesley's Obituary
Frederick Dale Lesley 99 of Decatur died Friday June 13, 2008 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Monday June 16, 2008 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home with Pastor Russell Weise officiating. Private burial will be in Graceland Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorial gifts are suggested to Mid-Illinois Talking Book Center or the Macon County Honor Guard.
Mr. Lesley was born on June 7, 1909 in Pierson Station, IL the son of Harry and Mattie Moore Lesley. He was a retired millwright from A.E. Staley Manufacturing. He also worked after retirement at the downtown parking garage. He served his country proudly in the US Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and a lifetime member of the VFW. He married Helen E. Donkofski on November 22, 1939 in Decatur. She preceded him in death on September 28, 1997.
Surviving are his daughters, Pam Rhodes and Gail Morris Dean Blancett both of Decatur; granddaughter, Lesley Dunn Allen McCoy of Decatur; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, one sister, and an infant son, Gary Lynn Lesley.
