G. David Mrotzek's Obituary
Forsyth – G. David “No Neck” Mrotzek, 60, of Forsyth, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2014, in St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by family.
Dave was born Glen David Mrotzek on March 24, 1954 in Decatur, the son of Paul H. and Gladys L. (Barger) Mrotzek. He worked many years at Wagner’s, ADM, School Bus Driver, and K’s Merchandise. Dave married Cathy S. Edgecombe on August 6, 1974 in Decatur and they shared 40 years of life together.
Dave, known as “No Neck” by his friends, enjoyed riding and working on his Harley’s over the years and traveling to see family.
Surviving is his wife, Cathy Edgecombe Mrotzek of Forsyth; brothers: Robert (Ginnie) Mrotzek of Tucson, AZ, Ron (Louise) Mrotzek of Decatur, IL, and Brian Mrotzek of Decatur; sister, Dorothy Ransdell of Alpine, CA; mother-in-law, Lillian Edgecombe of Argenta; sister-in-law, Shirley Littrell; brothers-in-law, Jim (Emily) Edgecombe of Argenta, Greg Poepl of Pleasant Plains, IL; nieces and nephews: Mary (David) Jones, Christy (Bill) Friesner, Bob (Debbie) Mrotzek, Lauri Wagoner, Greg Mrotzek, and Sheila, Donnie, Linda, Tina and Linda Littrell, Dan Edgecombe, Chris Poepl, Holly Edgecombe and Megan Edgecombe; numerous other relatives and friends.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, George Edgecombe, brothers: Chuck Littrell, Gerald Mrotzek and Owen Mrotzek; brother-in-law, Ted Ransdell and sister-in-law, Pam Poepl.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Saturday, August 16, 2014 at the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home with a service to celebrate his life to follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will take place in Graceland Cemetery.
