Randall, Gary Lee's Obituary
Gary Lee Randall, 85, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 10:53 P.M. on Tuesday (2/11/2025) at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Gary was born on July 10, 1939, in Decatur IL the son of Harold R. and Eloise (Pope) Randall. He attended Warren and Roosevelt schools and Decatur High School. He was an army veteran and served some of his time in Germany. Throughout his life he worked at Muller, Caterpillar, several Tree Services in Decatur, did upholstery work for multiple fitness centers and was a 3rd generation very skilled upholsterer running Carter’s Design house. Gary loved country music and dancing, he was a kite enthusiast and enjoyed camping with the grandkids. He was always tinkering in his shop, working in the yard, feeding the birds & squirrels, and he could fix anything. Gary married Sheri Dearth on July 28, 1968.
He is survived by his wife Sheri Randall (Dearth), daughter Corey “Oney” Conroy (Mike) and son Jody Randall, and sister Carol Hugli (Dennis). Grandchildren Carol Fitzpatrick (Alan), Lauren Dale (Hunter), Dylan Conroy, Justin Randall (Christina), Kayleigh Randall, and Alexa Cushman. Great grandchildren Azriel, Lily & Ronan Fitzpatrick; Aiden, Daxton & Owen Randall, and Nellie Roedl. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, brother Harold “Bud” Randall and infant daughter Tracy Randall.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Tuesday (2/18/2025) at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home with visitation from 12:00 P.M. until the 1:00 P.M. service time. The burial will be at Boiling Springs Cemetery.
