Gaston Moreau's Obituary
Decatur-Gaston Leonard Moreau, 91, of Decatur passed away on Friday, December 7, 2012 in Aspen Ridge Care Center.
Gaston was born on December 15, 1920 in Pana, IL the son of Leonard and Simone (Henneau) Moreau. He served his country proudly during WWII and the Korean War in the US Navy. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Decatur and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. He retired from White's Paint and Auto Body Supply. He married Ruth Wilkinson on February 22, 1948 in Decatur.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth; son, Richard Moreau (Joan); daughters, RuthAnn Holmes (Jim); Sandra Stukins (Daniel); Janet Gray (Gary Jr.); sister, Louise Barbee; all of Decatur; 7 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Nancy Lynn Moreau.
Gaston was a good husband and father. He loved his grandchildren. They were the light of his eye.
The family would like to thank the staff at Aspen Ridge Care Center for all the wonderful care and concern of Gaston and the family.
Funeral Service Celebrating Gaston's life will be 11 AM Tuesday, December 11, 2012 in First Baptist Church of Decatur, 1320 Arbor Drive, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be 10 -11 AM Tuesday in the church. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery with Military Rites Conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials are suggested to Alzheimer Association or Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer.
