George Eubanks' Obituary
George Eubanks, 71, of Decatur passed away at 10:36 pm Monday, March 5, 2012 in St. Mary’s Hospital.
George was born on February 11, 1941 in Perthshire, MS the son of Leroy and Florida Sanlin Eubanks Sr. He was a veteran of the US Army and a retired tire builder from Firestone. He was an avid football, basketball, and boxing fan.
He leaves to cherish fond memories, his, sons, Christopher George Eubanks Gwendolyn of Nashville, TN; Gregory George Eubanks of Nashville, TN; Calvin P. Hamilton of Decatur; daughters, Vicki Hamilton of Nashville; Felecia Smith of MN; Sidney Tracine Hamilton of TX; brothers, J.C. Eubanks Georgia Ann; Johnny E. Eubanks Rosie; DeCurtis Eubanks; sister, Ellen B. Eubanks all of Decatur; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He will be greeted in heaven by his parents, brothers, James “Rabbit” Eubanks and Leroy “Big June” Eubanks Jr. and sister, Vergie Walker.
Homegoing Celebration will be 12:00 Noon Saturday, March 10, 2012 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Entombment will be in Graceland Cemetery concluding with the “Flight Home” ceremony.
