George Franklin Marshall's Obituary
Rev. George Franklin Marshall, 85, of Decatur died Tuesday September 22, 2009 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Funeral service will be 11:00 am Friday September 25, 2009 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday 5:00-8:00 pm in the funeral home. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery with military rites conduct by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials are suggested to St. John’s Hospice at St. Mary’s Hospital.
George was born on April 26, 1924 in Ashland, IL the son of Raymond Earl and Eva Florence Basham Marshall. He served his country proudly in the US Army during WWII and the Korean War. He retired from Auto Accessory after 32 years of service. He was a member of First General Baptist Church, former pastor of Friends Grove Church in Toledo, IL and Sunday School Superintendent at Lakeview Church. He was a member of the D.A.V. He married Myrtle Annabelle Brown on June 19, 1955 in Decatur she preceded him in death in 1989.
Surviving are his daughter, Linda Hall Louis of Decatur; brother, Edward E. Marshall Norma of Decatur; sister Ruby Boswell Ken of Louisville, KY; sister-in-law, Bonnie Ralph of Decatur; grandchildren, Christina Hall and Andy Hall.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Terry Marshall, and one brother, Raymond Marshall.
