George Newton McGee's Obituary
George Newton McGee, 89, of Decatur, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2018, at Gallatin Manor Nursing Home in Ridgeway, IL.
George was born December 28, 1928, to James and Ora (Vaughn) McGee. He proudly served in the United States Army. He was an auto mechanic for Texaco Service Stations in Decatur for 20 years. George loved to play bingo and he was also known around town for collecting cans.
He is survived by his two sons, Richard (Brenda) McGee of Michigan and Mario (Christi) McGee of Decatur; 13 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marjorie; his daughter, Terry McGee and his sister, Ruby “Maxine” Hopkins.
