George R. Riedel's Obituary
George R. Riedel, 93, of Decatur passed away on Friday July 2, 2010 in Fairhavens Christian Home.
Funeral service celebrating George's life will be 11:00 am Monday, July 5, 2010 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Spruel officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service in the funeral home. Burial will be in Brown Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
George was born on August 8, 1916 in Hull, IL the son of George W. and Lena Mudd Riedel. He was a member of the Elks, the Moose, the Masonic lodge, and the Ansar Shrine. He was a retired Engineer for the Wabash and Norfolk & Southern Rail Roads. He was married to Dorthea McElroy she preceded him in death.
He is survived by his son, David R. Riedel and wife Sue of Casper, WY; daughter, Marsha L. Dickerson of Casper, WY; nieces, Sharon Taylor and husband Michael of Decatur; Cheryl Gillibrand of Cuba, MO; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, and one sister.
