George Paul Sadorus' Obituary
George Paul Sadorus, 84, of Decatur, passed away Friday, February 5, 2016, at McKinley Court, with his family by his side.
George was born September 30, 1931, in Urbana, to George Fay and Wilhelmina Rose (Lange) Sadorus. He proudly served in the Navy on the aircraft carrier, Bennington. George married Joan C. “Joni” Quintenz on February 19, 1955, at St. James Catholic Church in Decatur. They shared 60 wonderful years together before her passing on February 17, 2015. He was a member of St. Patrick Parish.
George, along with his wife, Joni, operated George St. Paul Studios for many years, serving Decatur and the surrounding community specializing in wedding photography. He was also a lifelong radio control airplane enthusiast and a member of Decatur Aero Commanders.
George is survived by his four children; Lowell “Duffy” (Teresa) Sadorus of Mt. Zion, Mark (Joyce) Sadorus of Decatur, Dana (Steve) Kissack of Milford, IL and Todd (Elayna) Sadorus of Decatur; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joni and one sister, Charlene Grant.
Visitation to celebrate the life of George Paul Sadorus will be 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, February 11, 2016 with liturgical prayers recited at 4 p.m at the funeral home. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, February, 12, 2016, at Graceland Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials may be directed to Ss. James and Patrick Parish.
