George Thomas "Tom" Rambo's Obituary
George T. “Tom” Rambo, 65, of Forsyth passed away on Monday, December 21, 2015 in his home.
Tom was born on February 12, 1950 in Decatur the son of Robert W. and Rosemary (Sparks) Rambo. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Norfolk & Southern Railroad and was a longtime Chicago Bears fan. He was a member of the American Legion Castle William Post #105, VFW Post #99, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie#507.
Surviving are his, sister, Marsha McCarthy of Forsyth; nieces and nephews, Rick Rambo (Kim) of Decatur; P.J. McKenzie (R.J.) of Decatur; Kerry Chase of Houston, TX; Lori Hodges of Lincoln; Colleen Vallandingham (Kirk) of Decatur; and Tom McCarthy (Natalie) of Decatur.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert W. Rambo and Rosemary Gallup, step-father, Raymond E. Gallup, brother, Richard W. Rambo, sisters, Kathleen M. Jensen and Janie R. Papenberg.
Graveside service to celebrate Tom’s life will be 1 PM Tuesday, December 29, 2015 in La Place Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Monday in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home.
