Gerald E. Ray's Obituary
Decatur-Gerald E. Ray, 65, of Decatur, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2013 in his home. He was born September 1, 1947. Jerry worked at Caterpillar Tractor Company in Decatur for 39 years. He was a member of Rocco's Shuffleboard League and liked to relax at Taylorville Lake Campground. He was also a die hard Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan. He was often known to inquire 'Who is the biggest, baddest, MF in the bar? I am.'
He leaves behind his sons, Joseph Ray and Joshua Ray, and granddaughter, Autumn Ray. Brother, Kenneth (Linda) Ray, sister, Sharon (Timmie Vieweg ) Ray, brother, Dennis Ray, step-sons Smitty Smith and Mike Smith, grandson, Dalton Smith and granddaughter Sonny Rae Smith. Nieces Kathy (Rick) Moore and Laura (John) Kelly, and nephew, Gary (Kim) Ray. Ex-spouses, Sue White and Rhonda Ray, and many other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by son, Jason Ray and nephew, Tommy Kullik.
Services to celebrate Gerald's life will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Isidore Cemetery.
