Gerald Hill's Obituary
Gerald "Jerry" Hill 67 of Mt. Zion died Sunday October 1, 2006 in his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 7:00 pm Thursday October 5, 2006 in Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Mt. Zion with Rev. Joe Molloy celebrant. Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 pm Thursday in the church Family burial will be 10:30 am Friday in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church or the Knights of Columbus.
Jerry was born July 7 1939 in Springfield, IL the son of Edward A. and Rose Corrie Hill. He had worked for Raytheon as a Senior Structural Designer in Littleton, Co and as a draftsman for A. E. Staley in Decatur, IL He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Mt. Zion and the Knights of Columbus Council #11582 of Mt. Zion. He married Janet Hertel on May 14, 1960 in Decatur, IL She preceded him in death on September 20, 2006.
Surviving are his children, Douglas A. Hill of Aurora, CO; Brian P. Hill and wife Melisa of Farmington, UT; Michelle L. Snow and husband David of Greer, SC; Matthew P. Hill of Aurora, CO; grandchildren, Kolten B. Hill, Korben M. Hill, and Camille Allen all of Farmington, UT; Sierra Snow of Greer, SC; father, Edward A. Hill of Benton, IL; brother, Michael Hill and wife Lisa of Wilmington, NC; sisters, Edie Brda and husband Mike of Afton, MO; Loraine Walker and husband Steve of Palm Bay, FL; Carol Crouch and husband Mike of Washington, IN; Nancy Stain and husband David of High Ridge, MO; Eileen Satterfield and husband Steve of Benton, IL; Donna McGlynn of St. Louis, MO; Janice Verbeke and husband Chris of Aledo, IL.
He was preceded in death his wife Janet, Mother Rose Corrie Hill, and step-mother Mary F. Shoemaker Hill.
