Gerald L. "Jerry" Mrotzek's Obituary
Gerald L. “Jerry” Mrotzek, 73, of Decatur, died Saturday, October 30, 2010 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Jerry was born July 31, 1937, in Decatur, the son of Paul and Gladys Barger Mrotzek. A U.S. Army Veteran, Jerry spent nine and a half years in Viet Nam where he earned several medals including two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart. He attended the Oak Grove Church Of The Nazarene and was a member of American Legion Post #105, D.A.V. Post #17 and V.F.W. Post #99.
Surviving are his siblings: Robert Mrotzek of AZ, Dorothy Ransdell of CA, Ron Louise Mrotzek of Decatur, Brian Mrotzek of Decatur and David Cathy Mrotzek of Forsyth; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Charles Littrell and Owen Mrotzek.
Visitation will be Monday November 1, 2010 from 11 am until the service time at 12 noon in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Burial with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard will be in Graceland Cemetery.
