Forsyth- Gerald W. McCarthy, 66, of Forsyth passed away on Sunday February 6, 2011 in his home surrounded by his family.
Private family service will be held in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Boilingsprings Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society or Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
Gerald was born December 5, 1944 in Pana, IL the son of Fredrick and Catherine Whitman McCarthy. He was retired from Caterpillar and served his country in the Army Reserves. He married Marsha Rambo on October 25, 1969 in Decatur.
He is survived by his wife, Marsha, son, Thomas McCarthy Natalie of St. Louis, MO; daughters, Kerry McCarthy-Chase and Colleen McCarthy-Vallandingham Kirk both of Decatur; brother, Thomas McCarthy of Decatur; sisters, Kathleen Carpenter of St. Louis, MO; Patricia Berndt of Decatur; Eileen Hawker of Kankakee; grandchildren, Zachary, Jordan, Kali, Reese, and Drue; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two grandchildren, Wesley and Olivia.
