Gerald O. Rau 89 Of Decatur Died Friday January 2, 2004 in St. Mary's Hospital.
Services will be 10:00 am Monday January 5, 2004 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Ingram officiating. Visitation will be 2-4:00 pm Sunday in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Illini Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Northwest Christian Church. Condolences may be made to the family at www.moranandgoebel.com.
Gerald was born on June 3, 1914 in Austin Twp., IL the son of Roscoe and Ruby Lakin Rau. He was a retired farmer and was also a retired school bus driver from Warrensburg-Latham School. He was a member of the Old Harmony Church in Austin Twp. He married Betty Roberts Stogsdill on November 29, 1957 in Springfield.
He is survived by his wife Betty Rau; daughters Gloria Tomlinson Herb of Decatur and Mitzi Davis Daniel of Oak Hill, FL; grandchildren, Thomas Tomlinson Cathy, Shelley Lea Troy, Chad Gray Kelli Olson, Dylan Davis, Jade Reed Curtis Robert Sharp Stephanie Russell, Christopher Sharp Jenny, and Alan Sharp; Thirteen Great-grandchildren; special niece, Sandra Flach; and special nephew Jerry Wilber Nancy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one sister, one daughter, Geralda Sharp, and a son-in-law, Mark Sharp
The Family would like to thank Dr. D. Gregory and Dr. R. Smith and a special thank you to the nurses and the staff at St. Mary's Hospital for all their care during Gerald's illness.
