Geraldine M. Odum's Obituary
Geraldine M. Odum, 62, of Decatur, went to be with the Lord Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 12:18 am in Decatur Memorial Hospital with her family by her side.
Geraldine was born October 6, 1946, in Chicago, the daughter of Morris L. and Violet M. Miller Tempera. A member of Salem Baptist Church and a lover of small animals, especially dogs and cats, Geraldine was a homemaker who loved to play bingo. Geraldine married Russell E. Odum, Sr. December 4, 1974 in Junction City, KS.
Surviving is her husband, Russ of Decatur; children: Violet F. Tempera of Newton, KS, Russell E. Odum, Jr. of Pekin, Annette L. Dave Lowe of Pekin; grandchildren: Joey Tempera-Parks, Adrian Tempera-Parks and Annyssa Tempera-Parks; two great grandchildren; brothers: Michael Tempera, William Shimak, Rory Tempera and Dale Tempera; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents.
The family will receive friends from 10 am until the service time at 11 am Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at Salem Baptist Church, 2650 S. Taylorville Rd, Decatur, IL, 62521. Interment will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery Cemetery. Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society or Salem Baptist Church.
