Gertrude Bertha Virden's Obituary
Gertrude Bertha Virden, 87, of Decatur, took her final journey home on Fri, Feb. 16, 2007.
Funeral services celebrating GertrudeÃ?¯Ã?¿Ã?½s life will be 1 pm Tues, Feb. 20, 2007, in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home, Pastor John Laux officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service with burial in St. JohnÃ?¯Ã?¿Ã?½s Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to DMH Hospice in memory of Gertrude.
Gertrude was born on April 22, 1919 in Wauwatosa, WI, the daughter of Bertha Bortz. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Surviving is her son, George W. Barbara Virden, daughter, Karen E. Virden and close friend Thomas Moore; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren
Gertrude was preceded in death by her mother, husband, two sons, two grandchildren, one sister and one brother.
A special thanks to Dr. Anthony McCormack and his staff for all the kindness and care they gave Gertrude. She will remain in our hearts forever.
