Glen K. Coffman's Obituary
Decatur-Glen K. Coffman, 96, of Decatur, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2017 in his home with his family by his side.
Glen was born December 18, 1920 in Decatur, Illinois, the son of Pearl Frank and Cora (Scoles) Coffman. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Glen worked as a clerk with the USPS in Decatur retiring with over thirty years of service. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where he served faithfully in various capacities for over seventy years and he enjoyed gardening for many years. Glen married Nannie Robinson February 15, 1946. They were married over seventy-one years.
Glen leaves behind his wife Nannie, children Glenda Elzy, Daniel (Joan) Coffman, and Kevin (Jill) Coffman, seven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Franklin, Dr. Velasco, and the nurses and staff with DMH Hospice for all of their loving care.
Services to celebrate Glen’s life will be 11 AM, Thursday July 6, 2017 at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 650 N Wyckles Rd, Decatur. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 AM prior to the services at the church. Burial with military honors conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard will be in Macon County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Baptist Children’s Home (BCH) 949 County Rd. 1300 N., Carmi, IL 62821.
