Glen F. Plain's Obituary
Glen F. Plain, 93, of Decatur, died Wednesday, December 8, 2010 in Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Mt. Zion.
He was born July 6, 1917, in Eldorado Sprigs, MO, the son of Charles and Mildred Herring Plain. A U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, Glen worked as a crane operator at Sol Tick & Company before he retired. He married Virginia R. Woolfe in Phoenix City, AL, on March 15, 1945.
Surviving are his wife of over 65 years, Virginia of Decatur; children” Judith Bob McCafferty, Sr., of Decatur, Frances Terry Good of Terre Haute, IN, and Mary J. Scott of Decatur; 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; sisters: Bernice Workman and Ruby Dell Hamm of Decatur, Dorothy Housh and Lillie Bell Johnson of Lamar, MO.
Preceding him in death are his daughters, Martha and Cathy; 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
In honor of Glen’s wishes, his remains will be cremated and there will be no services. Burial will take place at a later date.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Mt. Zion taking great care of Glen.
