Glenora Patterson's Obituary
Mrs. Glenora Patterson, 86, of Decatur departed this life at 2:45 PM on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 in Decatur Memorial Hospital with her loving family by her bedside..
Mrs. Patterson was born on March 31, 1930 in to the late Frank Jackson and Minnie B. Flagg Jackson. She attended Church of the Living God Pillar Ground of Truth Temple No. 1. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Melvin Patterson in 1954. She retired in 2007.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory eight children: Mary (Paul) Walker of Chicago; Fannie Jackson, Melvin (Stacey) Patterson, Timothy (Trina) Patterson, Mark Patterson of Decatur, Donald (Joe) Patterson, Joyce (Randolph) Nixon of Arlington, TX, Sharon (Eddie) Riley of Decatur. She had five brothers and five sisters: Howard, Bishop Eddie, Elder John, Frank, James, Bella, Lou, Gerdy, MaryAlice, and Minnie. Mrs. Patterson also has 19 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, and a host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 10 siblings, and one great-grandson.
Homegoing Celebration will be 12 Noon Tuesday, October 24, 2017 in Church of the Living God Pillar Ground of Truth Temple No. 1., 1915 N Martin Luther King Jr. Dr., Decatur, IL 62526. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Monday and 11 AM –12 Noon Tuesday in the church. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
