Gloria Jean Beck's Obituary
Gloria Jean Beck, 83, of Decatur, Illinois, passed away July 11, 2025, at HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital.
Gloria was born in Decatur on May 15, 1942, the daughter of Adolph and Lois (Janvrin) Schwenoha. She married Richard Beck on February 25, 1987, in Decatur. Gloria was an assistant activities director at Imboden Creek Senior Living Center, and she previously worked as a CNA. Her heart was full of love for her family and others she met along the way. She took great pride in her appearance, never failing to have her hair perfectly styled and her makeup exactly right. She enjoyed line dancing, listening to music, and camping. She was an enthusiastic shopper. Gloria had an artistic streak that she expressed by doodling on nearly every scrap of paper she had. She loved animals and cared for the ones that wandered her neighborhood. She attended Maranatha Church with her family. Gloria was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 105, where she enjoyed spending time. Gloria will be remembered for her spunky nature and her love for her family.
Gloria is survived by her husband Richard; children Jeanie Buckley of Decatur and Ronnie Roasio Jr. of Decatur; stepchildren Debbie (Mike) Jackson of Moweaqua, Tammy (Adam) Henderson of Alabama, and Richard (Tiffany) Beck Jr. of Decatur; 9 grandchildren, including Kristen (Adam) Johnson of Decatur and Megan (Mitch) Earhart of Macon, both of whom she raised; 14 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, sons Mitch Roasio and William Roasio, one grandson, and one great-granddaughter.
Visitation for Gloria will be from 1pm to 2pm on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home, and will be followed by a funeral service at 2pm. Private burial following cremation will take place in Illini Cemetery at a later date.
