Gloria Jeannine Neisslie's Obituary
Gloria Jeannine Neisslie, 83, of Decatur passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017 in Decatur Memorial Hospital with her family by her side.
Gloria was born December 17, 1933 in Monticello, Illinois, the daughter of Fred E. and Nell June (Secrist) Wheeler. She proudly served her country in the U.S. Navy where she met her husband while stationed in Norfolk, Virginia during the Korean War. Gloria was a devoted homemaker and worked at Bergner’s Department Store and Terminix. She married Gerald L. Neisslie August 15, 1953 in Hertford, North Carolina. He preceded her in death January 8, 2011.
Gloria is survived by her daughter Linda Neisslie, sons Mark Neisslie (Shanda Grace), Steve (Chris) Neisslie, and Tim (Beth) Neisslie, brother Harold Wheeler, grandchildren Lora Fletcher, Melissa Stanley, Amber (Chad) Thomas, Ryan Neisslie, Jeff (Sara) Neisslie, Morgan Neisslie (Tyler Sanderson), and Mason Neisslie, great-grandchildren Mallory Fletcher, Malik, Makhi, and Makail Stanley, Brayden, Camden, Keaton, and Bentley Thomas, and Gwen and Nolan Neisslie.
Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and grandson Matthew Lewis.
Graveside services to celebrate Gloria’s life will be 2:00 PM Monday, December 11, 2017 in North Fork Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard.
