Gordon D. Sincebaugh's Obituary
Gordon D. Sincebaugh, 73, of Decatur, passed away Monday, September 15, 2014 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Gordon was born February 7, 1941 in Lincoln, NE, the son of Raymond and Dorothy (Beisner) Sincebaugh. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, and served on the USS Coral Sea. Gordon was a member of Elwin United Methodist Church. He started his career as a commercial photographer with his own studio. He then became a manager at Osco Drug, and later retired from Norfolk Southern in 2011. He had many interests including the Cubs, fishing, singing at church, and driving his Corvette as a member of The Rolling Prairie Corvette Club. He found his best friend, Carol Loudon, and married her in Decatur on July 15, 2000.
Gordon leaves behind his wife, Carol; children, Christine (Bruce) McDonald of Mt. Vernon, IL; Mike Dupin of Decatur; Debbie (Tim) Larson of Champaign, IL; Michelle (Aaron) Royer of Decatur, IL; Patrick (Danna) Sincebaugh of Lafayette, IN; Julie (Anson) Layton of Fort Bragg, NC; brother, Daryl (Mary) Sincebaugh of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren, Andrew, Nick, Ashleigh, Andrea, Sarah, Wesley, Amanda, Jessica, Shelby, and Jakob; great-grandchild, Anthony; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Norman Sincebaugh; and niece and nephew, Rhoda and Joel.
Memorial services to celebrate Gordon’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, September 19, 2014 at Elwin United Methodist Church, 1260 W Elwin Rd, Elwin, IL 62532. Visitation will be one hour prior to church service. In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Gordon may be made to God’s Shelter of Love or the Wounded Warrior Project.
