Post, Grover Allen's Obituary
Grover Allen Post, Jr., known as Allen Post, died February 8, 2025, in Lincoln, Illinois. He was 86.
Allen was born August 3, 1938, to Grover and Fannie Post on a farm near Lewistown, Illinois.
Allen lived with his family in Havana, Illinois, where he attended grade school through high school. Allen worked after school and on weekends on his family’s farm. During his high school years, Allen was active in football, basketball, swimming, and track. Allen was elected and served as president of his high school class, and he graduated Havana High School in 1956.
Allen went on to receive his bachelor’s degree at Western Illinois University.
After graduation, Allen joined the Air Force and achieved the rank of 1st Lieutenant during the Vietnam conflict. He was based at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, Colorado.
After Allen’s time in the Air Force, he received his master’s degree in business administration through Southern Illinois University.
Allen’s career throughout his life was focused on business administration. He eventually moved to Camp Hill, Pennsylvania to work for Boeing.
Allen is survived by his wife of 53 years, Monika Post, his daughter Catharine (Post) Pilato, his son Kristian Post, his stepdaughter Dawn Dewey, his 3 grandchildren, Erin Wall, Erik Post, and Anna Post, and his sister Margaret (Post) Niederer.
