Grover D. Thompson's Obituary
Grover D. Thompson, 77, of Decatur, died Wednesday, January 11, 2012 in his home with his family by his side.
He was born August 1, 1934 in Decatur the son of Grover Thurman and Ruby Alice Landreth Thompson. Grover worked as an operator at the west plant at ADM before retiring in 1996. He married Patricia A. Starks November 7, 1953 in Decatur.
Surviving is his wife, Patricia of Decatur; children: Judy Davis of Flora, Teri Harold Decker of Long Creek, David Thompson of Cisco, Diana Robert Britt of Decatur, Kathy Thompson of Flora and Connie Jimmy Sheets of Cerro Gordo; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Grover was preceded in death by his parents.
Per his wishes Cremation services will be performed by Graceland/Fairlawn Crematory.
Private graveside services will be held and there will be no visitation.
Grover was a hard working man who loved his family and dogs: Freeway, Lucky and Shadow very much.
