Hal Francis Ivie's Obituary
Hal F. Ivie, 73, of Decatur, died Thursday, October 16. 2008.
Hal was born September 20, 1935 in Decatur, to Hubert and Crystal Ellington Ivie. He loved gardening, enjoyed bowling, and was very fond of his cats. He served his country proudly with the United States Marine Corps. He worked for Decatur Public Transit Systems for 26 years, and retired in 1998. He married Rozann Thompson on December 10, 1972.
He is survived by his adoring wife of nearly 37 years, Rozann; and loving sisters, Jacque Matson of Decatur, and Nancy Turner of Portland, OR.
Hal was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; one sister; and his daughter, Sherry Ivie.
Graveside memorial service will be Saturday, October 25, 2008 in Point Pleasant Cemetery, at 10:00 am, with Pastor Ray Hudson officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Family has requeted no flowers. Memorials may be made in Hal’s honor to the American Lung Association, or the charity of one’s choice.
