Hanford Smith Chase Jr., 76, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2026, in Decatur, IL.
He was born on November 15, 1949, in Peekskill, NY, to the late Hanford Smith Chase Sr. and Margaret Turner Chase. He served his country in the United States Air Force.
Hanford enjoyed golfing, traveling with his wife, and watching the New York Yankees or Minnesota Vikings depending on the season.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth and Barbara.
Those surviving include his wife, Dana; children, Jarrett (Tina) and Lisa (Josh); stepchildren, Troy, Chad, and Shawn; brother, Herbert; sister, Marion; and grandchildren, Donovan, Haley, Kaitlynn, Tyler, Cassandra, and Nathan.
Hanford will be inurned in the Star of Hope Mausoleum in Graceland Cemetery at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 11, 2026. Those attending are asked to gather at the mausoleum by 10:50 AM.
