Hank Shuppara's Obituary
E. H. “Hank” Shuppara 85 of Decatur died Monday September 8, 2008 in St. Mary’s Hospital.
Graveside service and burial will be 11:00 am Friday September 12, 2008 in Macon County Memorial Park with Military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Visitation will be 9:30 ' 10:30 am Friday in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the American Legion or the DAV.
Hank was born on November 26, 1922 in Decatur the son of Fred and Augusta Thara Shuppara. He served his country proudly in the US Army during WWII in the South Pacific. He retired from A.W. Cash Valve in 1985. He was a member of American Legion Post #105 and the DAV chapter # 17 and served as Chaplin of the DAV. When he was a young man he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and softball. He married Juanita T. Heynen on October 7, 1950 in Sullivan she preceded him in death on June 6, 2003.
Surviving are his son, Tim Shuppara Cheryl of Decatur; grandchildren Heather Shuppara of Tampa, FL; Cameron Shuppara of Decatur; Katie Shuppara of Oconee; companion, Esther Miller of Decatur; brother Bill Shuppara of Decatur; sister, Rose Scribner of Dwight; great grandchildren, Gannon Shuppara, Zachary Shuppara, and Gabriel Shuppara.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, four sisters, and two brothers.
