Harold William Turner age 79 of Decatur left this life at 4:19 am Monday April 26, 2004 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Graveside Services will be 11 am Wednesday April 28, 2004 in Graceland Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Harold was born in Decatur on March 16, 1925 the son of Harold G. and Wilma L. Nein Turner. He served his country in the Marine Corps, serving two tours of duty, serving from 1943 thru 46 then again 1950 thru 1951. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Decatur. He was a Cable Maintenance Engineer for over 40 years working for the Illinois Bell Telephone Company. He was a member of the American Legion Castle Williams Post No.105 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars - Oren L. Davis Post No.99 of Decatur. Harold was an avid fisher and hunter, spending a lot of his free time in Wisconsin.
Survivors include a son; Steven Turner of Mattoon, daughter Leslie C. Turner of Racine, Wisconsin; one sister Barbara Harshbarger of Decatur. Six Grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive.
Harold was preceded in death by one Daughter and his parents.
