Sorry to hear about the loss of a wonderful doctor. I worked alongside her at St Mary's and Decatur Memorial Hospital. My thoughts and prayers to the family.
My brother Mack Wiley couldn't say it any better about our family doctor. I'm sorry to hear of her passing and couldn't be at the service. I would love to see her son Fred and his family. She was a very good doctor for all of us and her interest inspired so much that she was an awesome person. I'm so glad that she took good care of our Mom throughout her life til her death, Mom wouldn't want anybody else. We all going to miss her but it was a blessing that we had her in our life. Dr. Held was a wonderful person. She was our family doctor when we first moved to Decatur in 1957. She became a close family friend and took care of my mother until her death in 2009. I will always be grateful for her care and passion. Fred I haven't seen you for years but I hope you are doing well. I know you had great guidance and inspiration. My deepest sympathies are with you and your loved ones.I think the song lyrics "they just don't make em' like that anymore" hits the mark when thinking of Dr. Held. May she forever rest in peace, she deserves it.Mack Wiley.
My sincere sympathy to her famiy. What a lovely, kind, and gentle lady. She was my first doctor and I have never forgotten her soothing and comforting manner.ANita Thompson
