Harry Richard "Dick" Ferguson's Obituary
Decatur – Harry Richard “Dick” Ferguson, 79, of Decatur passed away Saturday, February 25, 2017 in St. Mary’s Hospital.
Dick was born May 13, 1937, in Taylorville, the son of Maurice and Eileen (Hardy) Morgan. An Air Force veteran, Dick owned and operated Mattoon Datsun/Mazda for many years. He married Shirley A. Banko April 9, 1960.
Surviving is his wife, Shirley of Decatur; brother, Joseph (Cyndi) Ferguson of Pharr, TX; sister-in-law, Patricia Klingler of Ft. Myers, FL; and brother-in-law, Jim (Marcia) Banko of Taylorville; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Barbara McWhinnie and brother-in-law, John Banko.
Services to celebrate Dick’s life will be held at 2 pm Saturday, March 4, 2017, at the Main Hangar Restaurant, Decatur. Burial will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville, IL, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Decatur & Macon County Animal Shelter Foundation or Humane Society of Decatur & Macon County.
