Harry Franklin Myers' Obituary
Harry Franklin Myers, 88, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2020, at St. Mary’s Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Harry was born March 7, 1932 in Decatur, to Harry Leland and Pearl (Earls) Myers. He proudly served in the National Guard during the Korean War. Harry enjoyed gardening and working out in his yard, but most of all, he loved babysitting his grandchildren.
He is survived by his four children, David (Terry) Myers, Michael (Rene Schmidt) Myers, Sharon Nielsen and Pamela (Dan) Benscoter; 10 grandchildren, Troy Sleeth, Catherine Nielsen, Ashley Dawson, Erica (Joe) Brown, Paige Myers, Brooke Myers, Sarah (Luke) McKenzie, Bethanie (Quentin) Finger, Lindsey Myers and Samantha Myers; 10 great-grandchildren, Abigail, Zoey, Ashton, Emily, Christian, Jensen, Keagan, Peyton, Aurora, Harper; and two sisters, Betty (Ron) Price and Phyllis Kissell.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Billie Myers.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Harry Myers will be Private at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be Private. Burial will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Alzheimer’s Association 2309 W White Oaks Dr Suite E, Springfield, IL 62704.
