Helen Lucille Carter's Obituary
Helen Lucille Carter, 80, of Decatur, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Helen was born January 14, 1928, in Decatur, the daughter of Elza and Augusta Milinda Mundwiler Matlock. She worked as an attendant at the Easy Clean Laundromat and attended the Baptist and Christian Churches throughout her life. She loved to play Bunko and was a Chicago Cubs and Illini Fan. Helen married Robert Carter in Decatur April 16, 1949 in Decatur and he preceded her in death March 16, 1995.
Surviving are her children: Linda Sanford Shriver, Richard Linda Carter, Robert Carol Carter, and William Carter all of Decatur; brother, James Beverly Matlock of Decatur; 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 grandchildren, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
Visitation: Thursday, May 8, 2008 from 5 to 8 pm at the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Funeral service: 1 pm Friday, May 9, 2008 in the funeral home chapel. Burial: Macon County Memorial Park.
